Simply put, only the best ingredients are selected at Kagome. We believe that our products taste superior because we source the most wholesome, nutritious, natural ingredients and utilize only minimal processes that lock in the flavor and nutrition found in nature.

Sustainability

Kagome's policy is to buy local ingredients grown using sustainable agricultural practices. When a local source is unavailable, items are sourced further away from certified supplier partners that utilize sustainable practices.

Sourcing of Ingredients

Kagome sources ingredients locally to each production facility, in an effort to reduce our environmental foot print, overall costs, and promote local farmers. When local ingredients are not feasible (growing season or climate or vendor availability, for example) we go straight to the top US source for the item. For example, California is the specialty crop leader in the US and produces the best quality and large volumes of tomatoes, garlic, onions, and other ingredients.

Traceability

Kagome developed and employs a comprehensive complete traceability program that captures 100% of our materials and packaging from the origins in the field to the final delivery to our customers. Our track record and audit test scores show the absolute success of our program and give our customers all assurances they desire. Material and finished goods are bar coded to support instant traceability.

Country of Origin

Kagome provides country of origin information to customers that require this knowledge.

Certified Vendor Program

Kagome developed and utilizes a stringent Certified Vendor Program that requires all materials meet specifications and provide certifications of analyses with each shipment, specify country of origin, determine and support allergy programs, be HALAL compliant (upon request). Additionally all vendors must perform food safety audits successfully, undergo annual review, and provide 24 hour contact persons.

Contingency Program for Ingredients

With our global reach, we are able to find alternative certified vendors when supply is limited, threatened or cost prohibitive. We have active certified supply sources in Asia, Australia, Europe, the Middle East, North America, and South America working for our customers to assure consistent quality, food safety, and value.
